Artist's Description
The original painting of Ernie K-Doe. self proclaimed emperor of the universe, is hanging in the Mother-in-Law-Lounge.
It was a gift to the late Antoinette k-Doe.
Note-
I took photos at Ernie and Antoinette's joint birthday party, and began this painting from one of those images. I finished it on the day of his death. I had it framed, and Antoinette said "you'd better hurry and bring it to me"!, so I complied. The Mother-in-Law Lounge was sold, after Antoinette's passing, and the large collection of artwork was auctioned.
It is available as a print and as a poster.
About Beverly Boulet
Louisiana born artist Beverly Boulet began art studies at age four, and, luckily, had art classes all through elementary and high school, plus Summer art camps. She studied fashion design at West Virginia University, and continued her art education with workshops by noted portrait artists, including John Howard Sanden, Daniel Greene, and Foster Caddell. Ms. Boulet began painting murals and portraits in the early 1970�s at the Maryland and New Jersey beaches, and continued to do so upon returning to New Orleans in 1980. She has painted, literally, thousands of portraits in water media, pastel, and oils, which grace public and private collections internationally.
