Artist's Description
After Hurricane Katrina, it was suggested that we plant Sunflower seeds, and that, somehow, would help replenish the soil. It was lovely to see the lower ninth ward, where my studio was located, with these beautiful giant flowers blooming all around.
This painting is a close-up of a Sunflower in front of the studio. It was so uplifting to see the bright faces greeting me when I walked up!!
About Beverly Boulet
Louisiana born artist Beverly Boulet began art studies at age four, and, luckily, had art classes all through elementary and high school, plus Summer art camps. She studied fashion design at West Virginia University, and continued her art education with workshops by noted portrait artists, including John Howard Sanden, Daniel Greene, and Foster Caddell. Ms. Boulet began painting murals and portraits in the early 1970�s at the Maryland and New Jersey beaches, and continued to do so upon returning to New Orleans in 1980. She has painted, literally, thousands of portraits in water media, pastel, and oils, which grace public and private collections internationally.
