Artist's Description

This is a pastel of Clarinetist Tim Laughlin playing at The Palm Court Jazz Cafe' in New Orleans Louisiana. .I knew him from his days with the Raspberry Ragtimers at Lulu White's Mahogany Hall, and drew a charcoal of him almost thirty years, ago.He is now one of the best clarinetists in town, and I wanted to paint him again. The original of this painting was donated to a fund raise for the Kidney Foundation.

Beverly Boulet

Louisiana born artist Beverly Boulet began art studies at age four, and, luckily, had art classes all through elementary and high school, plus Summer art camps. She studied fashion design at West Virginia University, and continued her art education with workshops by noted portrait artists, including John Howard Sanden, Daniel Greene, and Foster Caddell. Ms. Boulet began painting murals and portraits in the early 1970�s at the Maryland and New Jersey beaches, and continued to do so upon returning to New Orleans in 1980. She has painted, literally, thousands of portraits in water media, pastel, and oils, which grace public and private collections internationally.
