Artist's Description
Part of the Dichotomy Series, I began this painting with the background colors, and the graceful couple began to appear. Up and down is the major opposite depicted in this painting, but backwards/forwards, light/dark, male/female, standing,/kneeling, blue and violet with complementary colors orange and yellow, are also represented.
The man is beginning to rise and, with the same motion, ttwirl the woman...His hat may topple, perhaps to be caught in his free hand...Her hair may fly around with the spin, and the vibrant reflections of the colorful lights enhance the action!
About Beverly Boulet
Louisiana born artist Beverly Boulet began art studies at age four, and, luckily, had art classes all through elementary and high school, plus Summer art camps. She studied fashion design at West Virginia University, and continued her art education with workshops by noted portrait artists, including John Howard Sanden, Daniel Greene, and Foster Caddell. Ms. Boulet began painting murals and portraits in the early 1970s at the Maryland and New Jersey beaches, and continued to do so upon returning to New Orleans in 1980. She has painted, literally, thousands of portraits in water media, pastel, and oils, which grace public and private collections internationally. She has, also, exhibited and garnered awards in group and juried shows,...
